Amy's Top 10 Tips for the first 10 Days

Hey, it's Amy! I just wanted to share a few things that helped me in my first 10 days of the Ultimate Body Challenge program.  If you have questions or want more details on something you read here, contact us or just leave a comment below.

1. Always eat your vegetables - You get unlimited amounts of the vegetables on the menu, don't skip them.  They are thermic and burn more fat than they contain.  The more you eat, the more you burn, so eat up!

2. Buy some almonds - If you are a snacker and love crunchy snacks, 6 almonds can give you the fix you need. I buy the Blue Diamond Whole Natural Almonds in the 1 pound Value Bag.

3. J-E-L-L-O - If you crave sweets, especially after meals, be sure to stock up on Jell-O.  Buy the big sugar-free boxes and make it yourself.   Use a 9x13 Tupperware container with a snap-on lid. Dissolve 7 boxes (.35 oz) of sugar free Jell-O and 3 tablespoons of Stevia  in 6 cups of boiling water. Add 6 cups of cold water. You may have this at any time, AS MUCH AS YOU WANT, so take advantage of the good taste.

4. Add Coffee Fx to your shakes - If you are a coffee drinker, you will love this.  I add 2 scoops of Coffee FX to my Tropical or Chocolate Body FX.  Its better than going to Starbucks!  You can also add your regular brewed coffee to your shakes.  Just keep in mind that coffee can be acidic and part of our goal is to get you out of the acidic state that you're currently in.

5. Keep your fruit out of your shake - Don't mix your fruit into your shake for the first 10 days.  There are a couple of reasons for this.  One, we want you to fill your stomach and make it work on processing your foods. And two, the processing of that fruit produces digestive enzymes that will help you digest your food all day.

6. Spice it up! - You might find yourself eating the same foods quite a bit even though you have many to choose from.  You can change up the flavor or your foods with spices.  Some of my favorites are onion powder, Old Bay, garlic powder, Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning, Italian Seasoning, McCormick's Grillmates Montreal Steak and Chicken.

7. Use real butter - Real butter is made with one ingredient: cow's milk or cream, churned or shaken.  You can have 1 tablesppon at each meal. Don't neglect yourself and don't use margarine. BUT if you want to be uber healthy, use olive oil whenever possible instead of butter.

8. Trimbolic slushies - Mix your favorite Crystal Light flavor with your Trimbolic, add a few ice cubes and put it in the blender for a delicious, refreshing snack.

9. Lifegest - If this menu is drastically changing the way you eat, don't skip the Lifegest.  Many times when people start adding more vegetables to their diet, they may initially experience indigestion, heartburn or gas. LifeGest offers much-needed help with digestion for overall improved nutrient absorption and better health. Just chew two before each meal.

10. Taco Salad - You can have salsa, guacamole, lean ground beef or turkey, so why not enjoy a delicious taco salad? Just an idea!

These are my tips, what are yours?  Post them below.
